Baked Goodies, Entertaining

A Rainbow Unicorn Cake

My friend Tiffany’s mom lives a few hours away, and she reached out to me to surprise her for her 32nd birthday by ordering a cake. She wanted rainbows and unicorns, and to be honest, I have been absolutely dying to do a rainbow unicorn cake! So I jumped at the chance.

I created a bright color palette of icing, and followed the “you can literally never have to many sparkles and sprinkles” rule.

If you love Sprinkles as much as I do, you HAVE TO get Fancy Sprinkles!

Can I just only do unicorn cakes for the rest of forever?? Seriously, SO fun!

Instagram post 2196062979250042723_531394437 My sweet friend Lauren (@whiteflagdesignco ) made this sign for me and I absolutely adore it! Pregnant and a toddler mom means that more often than not, my home is a mess. And I am learning to just embrace the chaos some days because Lord knows it can’t be perfect all of the time. And the mess means my beautiful family is LIVING here. I am blessed!
And by the way- she has more of these block signs and they make GREAT Christmas gifts! She also can take custom requests. Go follow her page to order!

Instagram post 2192276979621216009_531394437 Thank you so very much, from the bottom of my heart, to all of those who have given to support me this year, committed to giving toward next year, and/or committed to pray about giving! Without you guys partnering with me, doing this ministry would not be possible!
We still have a ways to go to reach full funding for the 2020 calendar year! If you would like more information about what I do, or how to partner, please contact me! I would love to share more!
Instagram post 2190776063956880485_531394437 Now that I have shared a bit about my heart and the work that I am doing, I would LOVE to share the most tangible way for you to partner with me! It is #GivingTuesday after all! ;) As a full-time missionary, I am raising 100% of my support to live off of for the year. With Lilliana’s birth quickly approaching, I will be cutting back on the ways that I have been supplementing to make ends meet, so this becomes even more important (and truly it is my heart to give this all of my attention!). To be able to do the work that I need to do and give the time that is required of me, this is an absolute necessity and a beautiful way that you can invest in the kingdom and the lives of others! Not only will any gifts be supporting our family while I do this work, but they will also help with the cost of things such as sending care packages and meals to families who need uplifting- which all comes out of my personal budget.
Any gifts made this month will be able to be deducted on your 2019 taxes, so if you’ve been looking for a year-end gift opportunity, please pray about this! I am placing a chart in my story with some suggested amounts (monthly or one-time) but they are just that…suggestions! Any amount would be greatly appreciated! I will also include ways to give in the comments. Please message me if you have any questions, and stay tuned for updates!
Instagram post 2190747270714420237_531394437 To launch Giving Tuesday, I wanted to explain a little bit more about the work that I am doing! I made a couple of posts yesterday about the two primary areas that are on my heart and where I spend the majority of my time…but WHAT am I actually doing on a day to day basis?

Much of the time, I am having conversations, praying, reaching out, and checking in. It is almost a daily occurrence that someone messages me either for themselves, or to ask me to reach out to someone that they care about. Infertility and miscarriage is a very personal thing, so a lot of time is spent in a one-on-one setting.
Another big thing that I have been able to do is send out these care packages. When you are going through the hardest things in life, sometimes it just brightens your day to receive something tangible that makes you smile. The items that area included vary, but always point to Jesus and healing. I would absolutely love to be able to send out more of these over the course of the next year, which is a big part of the fundraising that I am working on!
In addition to these two areas, another major focus for my ministry is supporting new moms. Postpartum depression rates are higher than ever, and it is very common to feel lonely and isolated during that season of life. I have been so fortunate to make more than a few close friends that I’ve been able to do life with as they adjust to their new role, and I am so excited to grow this aspect of my ministry this year!

There are a couple more focus areas that I am adding in 2020! I will be sharing more about those later!

Instagram post 2190441444506301210_531394437 This is another area very near to my heart and central to the work that I do. It is a very painful reality for so many, and most don’t talk about it.
I have had the opportunity to pray with, cry with, mourn with and rejoice with dozens of women walking this road over the last months. It can be such a lonely place to be, and I have been blessed to be a safe place to talk through their feelings and hold their hand, even though many are miles away.
If you could use someone to talk to, please know that I am here. I know the feelings that you are feeling all too well. The loneliness. The jealousy. The guilt over the jealousy. The hope and despair cycle that comes with each passing month and negative test. It’s all normal and it’s ok, sweet friend. 💖
